They spent the morning making coffee together as the sun rose, excited for the day ahead.
They said their vows to each other on a cliff overlooking the valley, with half dome as their witness.
J & L then ventured to the valley and danced beneath the waterfalls, before adventuring to an epic viewpoint, soaking in the sunset as they shared a cake and toasted to their elopement with their favorite craft beers.

Where to elope in Yosemite? How to elope in Yosemite? In this guide you’ll find everything you need to know to plan your Yosemite Elopement!
Budgeting can feel overwhelming, this guide will help you navigate budgeting for your Yosemite elopement as well as tips for being cost-effective.
As a Yosemite elopement photographer, I meet lots of couples who tell me they don't want to throw a huge party, they don't want to spend the day trying to please everyone but themselves, or spend months stressing over wedding details. My response is that this is completely okay. In fact, it's more than okay - it's awesome! It's your wedding day celebrating your relationship, and it should look and feel however you want. What ignites your soul? What makes you feel excited? What is special to you and your partner? These are the questions I want you to ask yourself when thinking about your elopement. You shouldn't have to worry about what anybody else thinks, but you.
I recommend around 6-12 months before you want to elope! This gives us plenty of time to plan your dream day and make sure you get to experience everything you're envisioning for your Yosemite elopement.
I send you a sneak peek of 15-30 images within 24 hours of your elopement! This way you can share your news with family and friends immediately. You will receive the full gallery within a month of your elopement day.
Absolutely! If the location permits, we can plan for and accommodate up to 15 guests. However, keep in mind that as the guest count increases, logistical challenges like parking, seating, and bathroom availability can limit your location options. A few locations in Yosemite will allow up to 40-50 guests.
I guarantee a minimum of 50 photos per hour of coverage, but I usually give much more than that! It all depends on the activities throughout your day.
Absolutely! I will photograph your elopement anywhere in the world.
Yes, in Yosemite you are required to have an officiant for a legal marriage. You can have a friend or family member get ordained and officiate your ceremony, or hire an officiant. If he's available, my partner can also officiate for you!
For most locations including national parks, state parks and BLM land a permit is required. I will contact the parks for you and help you acquire the correct permits so you don't need to stress about them.
Elopements give us the opportunity to explore some of the earth’s most epic places, but while we do so it’s important to remember to take care of and be respectful of our environment. As a California elopement photographer, I make sure to practice leave no trace principles in all of my activities, including elopements.
